Another tough match against a very big and strong Second Chance Academy side.
The game was played as 9v9 with four 15 minute quarters
The first quarter was played mainly in the Star Strike half, with everyone sitting very deep and allowing SCA to push forward
This resulted in two SCA goals in quick succession
Despite being two goals down and a physically smaller side, the Star Strike lads battled on with captain Cameron leading by example, putting in a great shift at right back and making some excellent tackles and clearances throughout the match
The second quarter went much better, with Star Strike pressing higher up the pitch and creating some good chances themselves, but couldn't manage to find the net
The second half continued to show much improvement from the lads as they continued the high press and took the game into the SCA half
An excellent performance by Reuben saw him collect the Man of the Match award for never giving up, despite being one of the smallest players on the pitch and getting lots of physical attention from the SCA defenders who clearly found him a handful!
Several chances were made by Star Strike, but didn't quite find the target
A clumsy tackle saw SCA awarded a penalty in the second half but a brilliant save from Cayleb saw him punch the ball over his crossbar to keep the score down
Sadly, a few minutes later, Star Strike conceded a soft goal with some sloppy defending leading to SCA slotting the ball home from close range
Despite being four goals down, the lads never gave up and fought til the end
A determined effort from the lads which earned praise from manager Scott after the final whistle
