On a bitterly cold winter evening, our team turned out to play Hucknall Sports at the Rolls Royce ground - our first game under floodlights!
A bright start to the game saw Ezra score a fine goal with a long-range shot that beat the keeper
Maxi stepped up to score a second giving Star Strike a comfortable lead
Just before half time, Hucknall Sports scored their first, putting the ball just inside Cayleb's far post
At half-time, Star Strike had a narrow lead and coach Scott warned that we needed more goals in the second half, as an equaliser would change the course of the game
A corner from Maxi early on saw a Hucknall defender deflect the ball into his own net, extending the Star Strike lead once more
Hucknall then fought back with a fine long range effort that found its way into the top corner
Ezra then put the game beyond doubt with a superb run and shot.
Hucknall nearly scored a third goal, but Cayleb dived backwards and scooped the ball off of the line! (one for VAR to look at for sure, but no goal was given!)
Yet another great win and a 100% record for coach Scott!
