After a night of rain, the pitch was playable, but very heavy and very muddy!
West Hallam look a good, well-organised team and were 3-0 up at half time. The scoreline didn't really reflect the game however, as Star Strike had their own chances, but failed to finish. The second half started brightly, with Star Strike getting a goal back with a great strike from Ezra, but things went quickly downhill as poor defending and a lack of effort from Star Strike saw West Hallam score another three goals before the final whistle.
The sides seemed fairly evenly matched, but West Hallam showed more desire and were stronger in the tackle. Some brave goalkeeping from Cayleb kept the score down, but on the whole, this was a game to be forgotten! We were made very welcome by West Hallam coaches Ian and Chris and we look forward to playing them again soon to see if we can give them a better match next time!
